Rowling Lights Up the Empire State Building
For Lumos USA

Author J.K. Rowling helped illuminate the Empire State Building on April 9 to raise funds and awareness for the Lumos organization, which helps countries reform services for disadvantaged and orphaned children. The lighting ceremony was conducted in conjunction with the launch of Lumos USA, the American arm of the international group of which Rowling is a patron. The name of the organization is taken from the light-creating spell in her Harry Potter series.
