Lord Lucan flew to his freedom from private airfield in Kent, hours after failing to stop a hitman murdering his children's nanny, according to a new book published to mark the 40th anniversary of the peer’s disappearance.

Lucan then escaped to France via a private airfield in Kent, according to Thompson’s account, ‘A Different Class of Murder’. More
