Sarah-Kate Lynch's new novel launched in Auckland

Her seventh novel, Dolci di Love, was the drawcard but many who went to Sarah-Kate Lynch’s book launch at Sabato last night seemed equally enamoured of the aged parmesan cheese!

Foodies Peta Mathias and Julie le Clerc were among the 50-strong crowd including Maggie Barry and fellow novelist Nicky Pellegrino who braved the rare (!) Auckland rain to hear Sarah-Kate talk about researching Dolci di Love.

Set in Italy, the author spent a month alone in Tuscany learning not to speak the language nor cook the food, but emerged with the story of an underground network of ancient widows who work behind the scenes mending broken hearts.

Dolci di Love has already been sold to Australia, the US, Brazil, Portugal, the Netherlands, Poland and Germany, with film rights currently under discussion.

Sarah-Kate takes her book tour around the country starting next Wednesday in Oxford, Canterbury, where all proceeds, including her royalties from book sales on the night, will go to the Red Cross Christchurch earthquake appeal.

Further details of SK’s author tour can be found at harpercollins.co.nz or on the Dolci di Love Facebook fan page.
