GREG JOHNSON SHARES HIS THOUGHTS ON THE BOOK THAT CHANGED HIS LIFE
Old New Zealand by F.E. Manning
I read this book when I was about 18 and it kick-started a life-long love of reading History and Travel Narrative (and in this case a combination).
It struck me at the time that we weren't being taught the violent and gritty realities of our own early NZ History. The author spins and exaggerates a fine yarn with lengthy digressions in the great Irish tradition.
