I was reading The Spectator (4 December) yesterday and came across the following notice:
New Zealander Shaun Cooney who so enjoyed reading The Spectator died peacefully at his home in Woodhill on November 19th.
He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
Donations if desired to the NZ Cancer Society, http://www.cancernz.org.nz/ or the West Auckland Hospice, http://www.wah.org.nz/
Footnote:
Shaun Cooney worked for many years for Hodder & Stoughton as a sales rep and then as sales manager. He was one of the great characters in the NZ book trade and had friends from one end of NZ to the other.
The Bookman says RIP Shaun and special thanks for your friendship and all the fun we had together over the years.
