cow poem is Tuesday Poem this week
it is a day for poetry that is to say
one like any other full of sunshine paddocks
and cold at heart
all day I speak to screen poets
the artless machine gives me breath
and words and
I am sitting in
a paddock far away a cow roars out
even I can tell distress from love
And so begins this week's Tuesday Poem by Australian poet Chris Mansell selected by NZ/Aussie poet Jennifer Compton. In the live blog roll of just under 30 poets, there are already poems up by a host of poets on a host of subjects from 17th century poet Margaret Cavendish on 'atomes' to 21st century NZ poet Saradha Koirala on Labour Weekend and in between you'll find Billy Collins and Roma Potiki and many others. So let this be a 'day for poetry!'
'That is to say one like any other...'
And Tuesday Poem wants to thank Bookman Beattie for his generous support of the site.
