13 March 2010Only one author on the programme this week, alongside the likes of the Archbishop of York, fashion pioneer Zandra Rhodes, and superconductivity developer Bob Buckley who jointly won the Prime Minister's science prize (and a cool half million dollars) earlier this week.
Neil Gaiman is currently visiting New Zealand (with his fiancee, musician Amanda Palmer - who's also on the programme), for Writers and Readers week (8-14 March) at the NZ International Arts Festival.
Neil is a a prolific creator of works of prose, poetry, film, journalism, comics, song lyrics, and drama. He has long been one of the top writers in comics (most notably The Sandman series), and also writes books for readers of all ages, including Neverwhere (1996), Stardust (1999), American Gods (2001), Coraline (2002), The Wolves in the Walls (2003), Anansi Boys (2005), and The Graveyard Book (2008).
