Numbers at this year’s Bologna Children’s Book Fair (BCBF)
have held steady, despite the 2016 event taking place just a matter of days
before the 2016 London Book Fair (LBF), which has led to logistical
challenges and increased costs for some publishers who are attending both
fairs.

The print market is up 11.4% in value for the first 12 weeks
of 2016, according to Nielsen Bookscan’s Total Consumer Market. This is the
first double-digit year-on-year rise for the first quarter of the year
