Nicolas Thomas, Director of the Museum of
Archaeology and Anthropology, Cambridge, UK, presents a lecture on the
interpretation of indigenous art in anthropology and art history.
Thomas is the author of Oceanic Art (1995), Discoveries:
The Voyages of Captain Cook (2003) and Islanders:
The Pacific in the Age of Empire (2010), for which he was awarded the
Wolfson History Prize.
The lecture will be followed by
refreshments and the launch of Thomas’s Body Art.
