Penguin Random House posted total revenue of 1.46 billion euros in the first half of 2014 and operating EBITDA of 159 million euros, parent company Bertelsmann reported Friday morning. Citing continued improvement in its core book business, Books-A-Million reported that it cut its net loss for the second quarter ended August 2, 2014 to $3.0 million from $9.1 million in the comparable period last year.
