Frederick Kaufman
Frederick
Kaufman has written about American food culture and other subjects for the New
Yorker, Gourmet, the New York Times Magazine, and Harper's, where he is a
contributing editor. He teaches at the City University of New York and CUNY's
Graduate School of Journalism, and spoke with Kim Hill in 2008 about his book,
A Short History of the American Stomach (Harcourt; ISBN 978-015-101-194-0). His
new book is Bet the Farm: How Food Stopped Being Food (Wiley, ISBN:
978-0-470-63192-8).

Mary-Kay
Wilmers co-founded the London Review of Books, and has been its editor since
1992. She worked closely with New Zealand artist Peter Campbell, who was
designer for the magazine since its first issue in 1979, and designed every
cover from 1993 to his death in 2011. Campbell’s work is celebrated in the book
Artwork (London Review of Books, ISBN: 978-178125-067-9) and at an exhibition
currently showing at the Hirschfeld Gallery, City Gallery Wellington (to 21 Apr
2013), and at the Gus Fisher Gallery, Auckland University (6 July to 10 August
2013).

with Mary Kisler: Hundertwasser
Mary Kisler
is the Senior Curator, Mackelvie Collection, International Art, at the Auckland
Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki. Her touring exhibition Angels & Aristocrats,
based on her book, opens at the Gallery on 23 March (to 16 June). Mary will
discuss the life and work of Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser.

Playing Favourites with Peter Skellern
English
singer-songwriter and pianist Peter Skellern has released over 20 albums since
his hit single You’re A Lady in 1972. He wrote the music and lyrics for the
Roger Hall play about grandparents and grandchildren, You Can Always Hand Them
Back, currently playing at Circa Theatre in Wellington (to 30 March). Roger and
Peter are giving a free talk about the play and grandparenting, at Te Papa in
Wellington on 24 February at 3pm.
