Ebury is relaunching its Black Lace erotica imprint, as E L James' Fifty Shades of Grey storms the charts.
The imprint, originally launched by Virgin Books in 1993, was put on hold in 2009 but will be revived in September.
Editorial director Gillian Green said: "It's still the best known erotic fiction imprint in the UK and we’ve seen huge growth in our digital sales on the list. In light of this, we decided the time was right to relaunch the list this September with a brand new look."
Green said it was "serendipity that we are relaunching our list at a time when E L James is taking erotic fiction into the mainstream. We’re really thrilled by E L James’s success but the fact that women enjoy reading sexy books was hardly news to us here at Ebury."
Black Lace has "classic" titles including Lucinda Carrington’s The Ninety Days of Genevieve and Justine Elyot’s On Demand on its backlist and Green promised there were titles in its forthcoming list that were "even steamier than Fifty Shades of Grey".
