Catholic priest Charles Drennan is currently based in Christchurch as Parish Priest of St Anne’s Woolston, and Administrator of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, which was partially destroyed during the earthquake of 22 February. Monsignor Drennan has been appointed Coadjutor Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Palmerston North by Pope Benedict XVI, and will assist current Bishop Peter Cullinane in the governance of the diocese until Bishop Cullinane retires sometime after he turns 75 at the end of November.

Fear is the Enemy was formed by philosopher Marcelo Lopez and his brother Luis, originally from Chilean rock group Postuma, while picking kiwifruit in Kerikeri last year. They were joined by guitarist and percussionist Karen Hunter after jamming at an open mic night in Auckland, then by German violinist Nikita Seiber. Fear is the Enemy has been touring New Zealand since late 2010, playing Latin-flavoured acoustic “tribal punk folk-core” music, and holding workshops on songwriting and philosophy. Their final two dates are in Raumati (Lembas, 4 March) and Wellington (Happy, 12 March.).
