"Picture It! A journey into Picture Books and Graphic Novels". Seminar in Hamilton Saturday 8 November


The Waikato Children's Literature Association Seminar on Saturday 8 November is "Picture It! A journey into Picture Books and Graphic Novels".  Come along to hear Donovan Bixley, David Elliot and Paul Martin talk about their work.


David Elliot (right) was this year's Margaret Mahy Medal winner. He is a wonderful artist and author of Henry's Map.  David illustrated Margaret Mahy's The Moon and Farmer McPhee (NZ Post Book of the Year) and The Word Witch

Donovan Bixley is colourful, prolific and fun.  He won the Children's Choice Award for The Three Bears Sort Of and recently published a great part graphic novel Monkey Boy

 Paul Martin is  a Hamilton designer who has produced his first fabulous graphic picture book about Kory, a surfing Kiwi from Raglan, titled Flight of the Kiwi.


The seminar will be held at Southwell School in Hamilton on Saturday 8 November from 9.30am – 3pm. The cost is only $40 for non-members of WCLA, $30 for members of WCLA and $20 for students.
