Awards News from Text Publishing - Australian 2012 Small Publisher of the Year


·    Cory Taylor's Me and Mr Booker is the regional winner (Pacific) of the 2012 Commonwealth Book Prize. The overall winner will be presented at a ceremony at the Hay Festival on 8 June.

Kate Grenville's Sarah Thornhill won General Fiction Book of the Year at the 2012 Australian Book Industry Awards. On the same night, we were declared the 2012 Small Publisher of the Year.
·     Kate Grenville's Sarah Thornhill and Adrian Hyland's Kinglake-350 have both been shortlisted in the 2012 Prime Minister's Literary Awards, for fiction and non-fiction respectively. 
·  Designers WH Chong and Susan Miller were recognised at the 2012 APA Book DesignAwards for their work on Bernard Beckett's August, which won Best YA Cover and Best Designed Children's Book.
·Jane Higgins' The Bridge was given an Honour Award at the 2012 NZ Post Children's Book of the Year Awards in the YA category, and also won the reader's choice award.
· S J Watson's Before I Go to Sleep and Kate Grenville's Sarah Thornhill have been shortlisted in the Independent Booksellers' Week Book Awards in the UK. The winners are voted for by bookshop customers, and will be announced in early September.
