tour several
Auckland centres next week
10 – 14 September 2018
These dynamic writers and illustrators will meet, inspire and
present to school children at 26 schools and libraries around
Auckland and Waiheke Island, with a full day (Tuesday 11 September) spent at
the Vodafone Events Centre in Manukau. All four will also appear at a special
"meet the creator" event at Howick Library, 25
Uxbridge Rd, Howick, next Thursday 13th September from
6.30-7.30pm.
After Auckland, the tour moves onto schools and
libraries in the Kaipara and Far North regions, from 29 October to 02 November, with a different team
of writers and illustrators.
The aim of the Storylines National Festival
Story Tour is to connect New Zealand’s children's writers, illustrators, poets
and storytellers with their readers and audiences, to share the enjoyment of
books and reading, and to encourage literacy. The tour and programme is
completely free to enable access to all to high quality New Zealand children's
literature, thanks to support from Creative NZ and other funders.
