Book Expo has named the books to be featured during the three annual Editors' Buzz panels at this year's show. In contrast to the past two years, when the adult panels featured four debut novels, the new selection is a departure: Four of the titles are works of nonfiction. (The last time that happened was in 2013.)

Macmillan announced promotions in its sales & technology division. Jennifer Gonzalez is being promoted to svp, trade sales, where she will oversee sales into traditional channels in the US for both adult and children’s trade books, including retail booksellers, wholesalers and the merchandise channel. In addition, Tom Stouras moves up to svp, online and digital sales, sales operations and analysis, and Leslie Padgett has been promoted to svp, technology.

At Grand Central Publishing, Caitlin Mulrooney-Lyski has been promoted to deputy director of publicity; Jordan Rubinstein to associate publicist; Amanda Pritzker to director of marketing and campaign strategy; Andrew Duncan to director of digital marketing and content strategy; Joe Benincase to digital marketing and analytics manager; Tiffany Sanchez to associate marketing manager; Lisa Forde to art director, Grand Central Life & Style; and
Lexi Smail to associate editor, Forever.

Jonathan Lee has been promoted to executive editor of Catapult.

At Chronicle Books, Miriam Keil and Sam Steele have both been promoted to sales manager, special markets. Morgan Amer moves up to associate sales manager, special markets.

The London Book Fair will return to March starting in 2019, with organizers saying their research showed "on balance, a March date was favored." The show will run from March 12 through March 14 next year (less than two weeks before the Bologna Book Fair, which runs March 25 through March 28), and is set for March 10 through March 12 in 2020.

The UK's IPG
presented awards to publishers in 13 categories, including Maths – No Problem! as independent publisher of the year and Verso as trade publisher of the year.

Awards
The Booker International Prize
announced its 13-book longlist, with the shortlist to be announced on April 12 and the winner to be named on May 22.

The Publishing Triangle will give their lifetime achievement award to novelist, nonfiction writer, playwright, screenwriter, and AIDS historian Sarah Schulman; the emerging writer award to Sarah Perry; and their leadership award to agent Malaga Baldi.

The Western Writers of America's Spur Awards will be given to David Grann's
Killers of the Flower Moon for historical nonfiction, and Jeff Guinn's Silver City for best traditional Western novel.

Bookstore Closings
Woody's Newsstand and Cafe in Greely, CO will
close after 81 years in business.

Turning Pages and More in Natchez, LA
will close May 31 after 18 years in business.

River House Books in Carmel, CA will close March 31
if a buyer does not come forward, as the lease expires and owners Diane and Gordon Simonds prepare to retire.

After talking about expansion for a while, bookseller Shakespeare & Co. tells PW they will open a store of a little under 3,000 square feet in Philadelphia's Rittenhouse Square this summer, and two more New York stores in the fourth quarter (at 2020 Broadway, and 450 Sixth Avenue).
