I can't tell you how excited we are by this year's lineup for
our annual Writers and Readers Weekend. We have secured two of New Zealand's
leading writers; Catherine Chidgey and Kate Camp for a series of events running
from 16th - 18th February.
You'll no doubt be familiar with Catherine as last year's
Acorn Foundation Fiction Prize winner in the New Zealand Book Awards for 'The
Wish Child'. She is also a long list nominee in the 2018 awards for her new
book 'The Beat of the Pendulum'. Kate is well known for her Kate's Klassics on
Kim Hill's Saturday radio programme and is one of our leading poets and
essayists. Her latest work, 'The Internet of Things' is also longlisted for the
2018 New Zealand Book Awards in the poetry category. You can find out more
about their illustrious careers here.
The weekend programme is as follows:
- Friday 16th Feb, 6.30 -
8.15pm - An intimate Q&A session with both authors! Details here.
- Saturday 17th Feb, 10-4pm -
A creative writing workshop with Catherine Chidgey! Details here.
- Sunday 18th Feb, 10-12pm -
A free to all, literary picnic with Catherine Chidgey, Kate Camp and
'open mic'. Details here.
Numbers are strictly limited for the Q&A and the
Workshop so please use the links to check them out and book early if you're
interested.
And we'd love it if you could share the information with
people you know who might be interested (it's also all on our Facebook page and our website).
