Today's Meal


Kristine Puopolo has been promoted to executive editor at Doubleday, and Margo Shickmanter has been promoted to associate editor.

At Little, Brown, Alyssa Persons has been promoted to associate publicist; Jennifer Shaffer will join as assistant publicist starting November 6; and
Carina Guiterman has been promoted to editor.

Adrienne Procaccini has been promoted to senior editor at 47 North and Skyscape.

John Sloan, senior executive editor at Zondervan, will retire on December 15 after a 34-year editorial career.

At Maria B. Campbell Associates, Rebecca Kuss has joined as co-director of the children's scouting department. Previously she was a YA reviewer for Booklist. Sarah Kelleher has been promoted to co-director of the department.

ITV America has signed an exclusive overall deal with literary manager and producer
Sharlene Martin and Martin Literary & Media Management. The deal sets development for unscripted projects based on literary works by Martin's clients. Martin said, "I'm thrilled to be a part of the ITV America family and look forward to working with them to provide unique and compelling storytelling based on the clients' books I represent for adaptation, particularly in the much sought after crime space."

Titled
Former FBI director James Comey's forthcoming book for Flatiron Books has a publication date (May 1) and a
title: A HIGHER LOYALTY: Truth, Lies and Leadership.

Bookselling
Amazon Books is
planning a 5,000-square-foot store in Atlanta's Buckhead neighborhood, at Lenox Square.

Awards
The inaugural Goddard Riverside Stephan Russo Book Prize for Social Justice was given to Susan Burton's
Becoming Ms. Burton.

Shipping Offers
Starting November 1, retailers now qualify for free freight on wholesale and distribution shipments from Ingram with a minimum of $350 in list price or 15 books, whichever is met first. Ingram says the addition of the list price minimum is designed "to make it easier for booksellers to order and reorder higher-priced illustrated, art, lifestyle, design and photography books that are in high demand during the holiday gift-giving season."

Distribution

Penguin Random House will distribute Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial in the US starting February 1, moving from Two Rivers Distribution. Titles from newly acquired Ediciones B will join PRHGE on February 1, moving from Spanish Publishers.
