Publishers Lunch

Today's Meal

Noah Eaker will join Flatiron Books as editorial director, reporting to Amy Einhorn, starting November 13. He has been executive editor at Random House.

Jessica Williams has been promoted to senior editor at William Morrow.

Sarah Armstrong has been promoted to client relations manager at Ingram Publisher Services.

Vogue
talks to Ghost, the "real-life New York book editor" who helps the writing staff of TV show Younger "understand the arcane workings of book publishing. "Ghost has worked in the industry since the '90s and has published books that you definitely know by title. His list includes a blue-chip White House memoir, another one by a '70s musical legend, and a novel that won the Man Booker Prize not long ago." (That narrows it down pretty quickly: we count 6 male editors of Booker winners from the past 15 years, four of whom have been in book publishing since well before the 90s, which leaves Colin Dickerman and Jake Morrissey.)

On Submission
Colin Kaepernick is
meeting with publishers about a book, represented by William Morris Endeavor, Page Six reports.

Also on submission is a proposal from Susan Fowler, whose blog post revealed sexism and sexual harassment at Uber. Good Universe just won film rights to her story, and the book proposal is
said to have "multiple bidders."

Hachette Books has formally announced their three-book deal with Mika Brzezinski (who said earlier this month that Harvey Weinstein had prematurely
told Page Six about the deal in July). The revised and expanded edition of KNOWING YOUR VALUE, originally listed online for April 2018 publication, is now scheduled for September, with her two additional books publishing in spring 2019
