Sydney Writers' Festival

As we prepare to vote on same-sex marriage, join Benjamin Law and David Marr on 13 September for an important conversation about the Safe Schools program. The journalists will discuss Benjamin's gripping Quarterly Essay on sexuality, schools and the media at the Seymour Centre.
Don't miss our first Monday Conversation. On 21 August, journalist Kate Cole-Adams and specialist anaesthetist Tim McCulloch will look at the facts and explore the enigma of the mysterious medical practice of anaesthesia.
We've recently published some fascinating podcasts from the Festival. First up, Bill Hayes talks to Slate's Stephen Metcalf about Insomniac City, Bill's loving tribute to his partner, the late Oliver Sacks, and New York City; and then, Colson Whitehead discusses his Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, The Underground Railroad, with New York Times Book Review editor Pamela Paul.
