Nikolic takes the new title of managing director, global
licensing, continuing to oversee the international rights business. She will
focus on adult fiction and non-fiction, overseeing and working closely with
director of adult UK licensing Peggy Boulos Smith. Cecilia de la Campa
has been promoted to the new role of executive director, global licensing and
domestic partnerships, continuing to oversee the kids and YA international
rights business, as well as now formally leading the agency's expansion in
domestic rights channels across their list – managing film/tv projects, theater
adaptations, educational reprinting, and audio. Katie Stuart and James Munro were
both recently promoted to licensing manager and report to Nikolic and de la
Campa.
Simon & Schuster Children's announced an "expansion and reorganization" of their marketing, publicity, and digital marketing teams, including promotions and new hires. Chrissy Noh has been promoted to senior director of marketing for BFYR, Atheneum, Caitlyn Dlouhy Books, Margaret K McElderry, Salaam Reads, Beach Lane Books, Paula Wiseman Books and Saga Press. Jill Hacking is now retail marketing coordinator. Senior director of publicity Nicole Russo will head up the publicity team for Pulse, Aladdin, Little Simon, Simon Spotlight, and Paula Wiseman Books, as well as oversee publicity for Cassandra Clare.
Lisa Moraleda joins the group as director of publicity, overseeing BFYR, Atheneum, Caitlyn Dlouhy Books, Margaret K McElderry, Salaam Reads, Beach Lane Books, and Saga Press. She was associate director of publicity for Little, Brown Children's. Anna Jarzab will join as digital marketing strategist, heading up the expanded digital team. She was associate director of digital and social marketing for Penguin Children's.
Additionally, as part of the restructure, associate marketing manager Catherine Hayden will now focus on the Aladdin and Pulse imprints, and Matt Pantoliano, Katy Hershberger, and Faye Bi have left the company.
At Picador, Elizabeth Bruce has been promoted to editor, while Marlena Brown has been promoted to senior publicist. Brianna Scharfenberg joins as publicist; she was most recently at Skyhorse. Sara DeLozier has joined as publicity coordinator.
Sally Franklin has been promoted to vp, executive managing editor for the Crown Publishing Group. Kirsten Clawson has been promoted to assistant managing editor, for the Crown and Crown Archetype imprints, and
Jessica Heim is now production associate.
Chelsey Emmelhainz has joined Crooked Lane as a senior editor, looking for upmarket suspense, mysteries, and crime fiction. Previously she was an editor for Arcade.
Courtney Dodson has been promoted to senior creative director for Amazon Publishing.
At Princeton University Press, Eric Crahan has been promoted to executive editor; Jodi Price has been promoted to associate publicist; and Julia Haav has been promoted to assistant director of publicity. Sara Henning-Stout has joined as publicist. Previously, she was publicity manager at Rutgers University Press.
Jess Zimmerman has been hired as editor-in-chief of electricliterature.com. She is best known for her cultural commentary and essays in The Toast, Slate, The New Republic, Hazlitt, Catapult, and elsewhere, and was the founding editor of Archipelago.
Edmison/Harper Literary Scouting started working with new publishing house Todavia Livros in Brazil as of July 1.

Portfolio has agreed with authors venture capitalist John Doerr and BetterWorks ceo Kris Duggan to defer publication of the October release Measure What Matters, following the filing of a sexual harassment and assault suit last week against Duggan and BetterWorks, alleging a hostile work environment at the company.

Novel Neighbor bookstore in Webster Groves, MO, outside of St. Louis, has expanded. The new space, an events venue, will be called Next Door.
Wholesaler American West Books, supplier to chain stores including Costco, Sam's Club, Whole Foods, Barnes & Noble, has changed owners. New owner Christopher Robbins has been with the company for four years and was previously ceo of Utah publisher Gibbs Smith and founder and publisher of independent press Familius.
