The time is now! The doors have opened! The 17th Auckland Writers Festival is underway.
This year’s Festival looks set to break last year’s record of 65,000 attendees. There are more venues, more international writers and more events than ever before. Whether it’s concert halls, our glittering new pop-up venue in the heart of Aotea Square or on city pavements, we look forward to welcoming you to the most varied events’ programme yet.
With the exception of Gala Night which is solout, tare still tickets left to ALL events taking place in the ASB Theatre, Aotea Centre. If you want to see Thomas Friedman, Susan Faludi, Ian Rankin, Roxane Gay, George Saunders and more, get your tickets now!
Right now, more than 5,500 senior primary, intermediate and secondary school students are filling the Aotea Centre. They've travelled from as far afield as Hastings, to hear smart, innovative writers from here and around the world.
Be sure to arrive early to free events as they are often oversubscribed. We’d hate for you to miss out!
