Author of rejected sci-fi novel is in the running for $50000 prize

Edinburgh-based writer Russell Jones has been shortlisted for a major international writing prize. The Half the World Global Literati Award comes with a prize of $50,000 for the winner, and a variety of $1000 runner up prizes.
Jones' book, The Talkers, is a novel for young adults. It follows a teenage girl as she hunts for her parents' killers in a matriarchal world where powerful individuals psychically control animals. theedinburghreporter.co.uk
