NEW YORK (AP) — "Hamilton" isn't just a hit on Broadway. It's a hit in print, too.
A hardcover edition of Lin-Manuel Miranda's celebrated musical about Alexander Hamilton was published Tuesday and topped Amazon.com's best-seller list. It features the libretto and photographs and accounts of the show's creation.
"Hamilton: The Revolution" is out of stock on Amazon, with an expected wait of nine to 12 days for a copy. It was No. 2 on Barnes & Noble's website.
Grand Central Publishing spokesman Jimmy Franco says "Hamilton: The Revolution" already is going into its third printing, for a planned total of 210,000 copies.
The book that inspired the stage production is Ron Chernow's 2004 biography of the founding father. It was No. 22 on Amazon.com on Tuesday. The show's hip-hop soundtrack also has been a best-seller.
