- The celebration for the 2015 RSL Jerwood Awards for first commissioned works of non-fiction took place on 26 November at John Murray's House. Congratulations to the winners: Thomas Morris, £10,000 for The Matter of the Heart, Catherine Nixey £5,000 for The Darkening Age and Duncan White, £5,000, for Cold Warriors: Waging Literary War Across the Iron Curtain.
- The RSL's V.S. Pritchett Memorial Prize for unpublished short stories has been awarded to Jonathan Tel for his story 'The Seduction of a Provincial Accountant'. You can read Jonathan's winning story on Prospect Magazine's website.
- The Autumn 2015 RSL Brookleaze Grants were awarded to Dan Powell, who will use the money to focus on completing his latest novel and a new short story collection; and Shazea Quraishi who will focus on writing her new poetry collection We will open applications for the Spring 2016 round of RSL Brookleaze Grants in January.
- Planning for the RSL's future. In the first half of 2016, our new Director Tim Robertson will be carrying out a review of the RSL's work, looking to develop a plan for the future. There will be surveys, consultation meetings and other opportunities for Fellows, Members and anyone else who cares about the RSL to contribute comments and ideas. Watch this space!
