IBBY Honour List 2016

It is with great pleasure that IBBY NZ can confirm that the following titles will be included in the 2016 IBBY Honour List of outstanding books honouring writers, illustrators and translators from the 75 IBBY member countries.

Writer: Mandy Hager   Signing Home the Whale  PenguinRandom House

Illustrator: Vasanti Unka  The Boring Book PenguinRandom House

Translator (Te Reo ) : Kawata Teepa  Ngā Kī  Huia

Translator (English) : Julia Marshall Detective Gordon: The First Case Gecko Press

These titles, along with selections from the 75 IBBY member countries, will be introduced at the IBBY World Congress to be held in Auckland 18 – 21 August 2016. A diploma will be presented to all those honoured and the books, with an accompanying catalogue, will be on display throughout the congress.

The titles were selected by the Storylines IBBY New Zealand committee.
