Emerging NZ writers to receive manuscript guidance

  NZ Society of Authors is delighted to announce this year's CompleteMS recipients.

Thirteen writers with manuscripts that include memoir, historical fiction, young adult fiction, mystery NZ fairy tales, supernatural romance and adult fiction have been chosen to receive a full manuscript assessment of the MS they submitted. The selection panel commented: "We were impressed with the quality of the applications and humbled by the amount of work that writers had put into the manuscripts". The selection panel was made up of writers Chris Else, Janet Hunt and Phillip Mann.

Congratulations to the 2015 CompleteMS recipients: Tui Allen, Adele Broadbent, Chris Carrell, April Chang, Greg Hall, Dave Hayward, Anne Kayes, Carrie Miller, Anne Moir, Amy Paulussen, Jenni Sands, Neil Shaddick and Judy Tindill. This year's manuscripts are as diverse as the regions they call home: from Wanaka in the south through to Dunedin, Christchurch, Napier, Feilding, Thames, Hamilton, Papakura, Auckland, and Matakana.

CompleteMS Manuscript Assessments are offered by NZ Society of Authors every year with the intent of fostering and developing emerging talent with the support of established practitioners. The NZSA has run a highly successful full manuscript assessment programme for writers since 1999 and it is supported by funding from Creative New Zealand.
