Prior to the announcement of the winners of the NZ Book Awards for Children and Young Adults, “Painted Stories” (Te Tai Tamariki) hosts our traditional “Best Picks” event.  It is always fascinating to see whose predictions have “nailed it”.

WHEN?   Thursday, 30 July at 6:00 p.m.

WHAT?    Panel members will review shortlisted books in each section of NZ Post    

                 Book Awards before predicting their “Best Pick” that might win that

                 section.

                 Those attending are encouraged to share their opinions and predictions.    

WHO?       Panel members are:-

                  Gavin Bishop     -     Picture Book section 

                  Chris Archbold   -    Junior Fiction section

                  Anna Smith        -     Young Adult section

                  Trevor Agnew    -     Non-fiction section

AUDIENCE?   Teachers, Librarians, Parents, Booksellers, Publishers . . . in fact

                        anyone who is interested in NZ Children’s Literature.
