On Wednesday 29 July,
the Man Booker Prize for Fiction will announce its 2015 longlist. This will be
the second year the £50,000 prize has been open to any writer, writing
originally in English and published in the UK, irrespective of nationality.
The 12 or 13 titles – known as
the ‘Booker Dozen’ – are selected by a panel of five judges: Michael
Wood (Chair), Ellah
Allfrey, John
Burnside, Sam
Leith and Frances
Osborne.
A shortlist of six books
will be announced on Tuesday 9 September and the winner, at a ceremony,
on Tuesday 13 October at London’s Guildhall.
The 2014 winner was
Australian writer Richard Flanagan, with The Narrow Road to the Deep North.
