The Royal Society of Literature is delighted to announce the shortlist for this year's RSL
Ondaatje Prize:

- Tobias Hill What Was Promised (Bloomsbury
Circus)
- Justin Marozzi Baghdad: City of Peace,
City of Blood (Allen Lane)
- Sigrid Rausing Everything is
Wonderful (Grove Press)
- Elif Shafak The Architect’s
Apprentice (Viking)
The annual award of £10,000 is for a
distinguished work of fiction, non-fiction or poetry, evoking the spirit of
a place.This year's judges are Tash Aw, Jonathan Keates and Fiona Sampson.The winner will be
announced on Monday 18 May. for information about past winners please visit
