Auckland Writers Festival - Latest News

AN ABUNDANCE OF AWARD-WINNING WRITERS


Congratulations to #AWF15 guest Nick Davies who is shortlisted for the prestigious 2015 Orwell Prize for his book, Hack Attack.

The Festival fair heaves with award-winning writers this year. You can see Booker Prize-winning novelist Ben Okri whose new novel The Age of Magic is newly released; highly respected Australian public intellectual Helen Garner; New Zealand’s Stephanie Johnson whose book, the aptly named The Writers’ Festival was published last month; Costa Book Award and Samuel Johnson Prizewinner Helen MacDonald; Vietnamese/Canadian Governor General Prize-winning writer Kim Thuy ; much-loved Kiwi writer Philip Temple and Haruki Murakami, who was recently nominated by Time Magazine as one of the world’s 100 most influential people – to name a few.
