UNEARTHED

An Suspenseful and Fast Paced Debut Novel by Biomedical Scientist Dr Steve Hodgkinson - $32.99

Sam Miro PhD is on a roll. Newly promoted and named as ‘Young Researcher of the Year’ it seems his passion for science and his commitment to the environment is finally paying off.

That is, until Sam gets embroiled in a conspiracy to derail the government by creating an ecologic crisis that no one wants to believe. It seems only Sam can avert impending disaster, yet a disastrous new boss and two very different women are clamouring for his close attention.

Steve Hodgkinson makes clever use of scientific fact to create a fast paced debut novel which plausibly illustrates the vulnerability of our natural environment.

About the Author

Dr Steve Hodgkinson’s day job is as a biomedical scientist researching biopharmaceutical and nutritional approaches for optimising health. His main focus is on translating academic science into products and services that are useful and make a difference.

Steve has an interest in finding engaging new ways to communicate the complex role science plays in modern society. Although he has over 180 scientific publications and patents to his name, Unearthed is his first work of fiction.

Steve has a love of New Zealand and the environment.  He grew up in Christchurch, spent several years on the big ‘OE’ in Europe and now lives on a lifestyle block on the banks of the Waikato River.  He is married with two adult daughters. Steve has a love of motorcycles, classical and modern, and when not exploring back country roads with his friends he enjoys cooking and trout fishing.

  1. This is a great read, fast paced, amusing, satirical with quite a bit of relevant comment, lightly improbable but gripping none-the-less. I read it in a day, usually a sign of a fun book for me. It would make a great NZ film, to sit alongside greats such as The Black Sheep
