Michael Bond: 'I'd hate another writer to use Paddington' Michael Bond has taken legal advice on how to stop other authors writing about Paddington Bear after his death, according to the Times. In an interview published in the newspaper on Saturday 1st November , Bond said he has already consulted a lawyer over how to protect his creation and that he would “hate” another writer to take on Paddington. Foyles launches 'Masterclass' series Foyles is to launch a series of Foyles Masterclasses in 2015 in subjects including photography, cookery and publishing. The masterclasses will be taught by experts and authors, often drawing on their latest publications. Foyles Masterclasses, covering areas including craft, psychology, illustration and more, will take place in the Auditorium of the new Foyles Charing Cross Road, “building on the educational heritage of the former home of Central St Martins College”. Scholastic gets Goosebumps Scholastic is reissuing 21 Goosebumps titles (March and May, all £4.99) and R L Stine’s autobiography (It Came From Ohio: My Life as a Writer, May, £4.99) next year, in advance of the release of the first Goosebumps film in August 2015. Goosebumps is the second- bestselling series of all time globally, selling over 350 million books across 32 languages. It is surpassed only by Harry Potter. The 2015 publications will be the first reissue of the series for a decade.
