SAVE THE DATE...
Auckland Writers Festival is proud to present a very
special event in the Langham’s Grand Ballroom on the evening of August 26th.
We can’t tell you who, yet…but we can say they’re one of the most

AND THE WINNERS
ARE...
Congratulations to Moira Aberdeen, winner of the
$500
Booksellers Token.
Kristina
Siversen of Auckland won $450 of books for taking part
in the post-Festival online survey.
Lisa
Finucane from Pt Chevalier won the Behemoth Book Giveaway
and took home a mighty stack of 13 books written by a range of this
year’s festival guests.
We were so lucky to hear Eimear
McBride at the festival just weeks before she was
announced winner of the Bailey (formerly Orange) Prize for Literature
for her much-lauded work,
A Girl is A Half Formed Thing. I’m sure that like us, you
eagerly await the next work from this debut novelist.

WANT TO WORK FOR THE
FESTIVAL?
We’re looking for a contract administrator to join us from late August,
overseeing accounts processing (on Xero), office management and
administration, board paper preparation, enquiry handling and event
delivery support. Hours will vary week-to-week but we anticipate 5-10
hours per week from June-January, up to 24 hours per week from February
leading up to the Festival, and full hours during Festival week itself.
Payment will be at an hourly rate to be negotiated.
This role will suit someone who is looking to supplement other
activities and who enjoys being part of a small, dynamic team, getting
involved, taking ownership and helping deliver one of New Zealand’s
most vibrant and fastest growing cultural events. If this sounds
like you, please send an email expression of interest with CV to Anne
O’Brien at aobrien@writersfestival.co.nz
