Looks like there'll be no more Pippa's tips for a long time. Ms Middleton has reportedly been dropped by her book publisher Viking, with a plans for a follow-up book completely shelved. According to a report in The Sunday Times, her American publisher Viking Press have decided to let Pippa go after her debut book, party-planning tome Celebrate, sold just 18,000 copies.
A source from the publisher told the paper: "Pippa's Celebrate sales are nothing to celebrate. She was a superstar after the wedding, and everybody thought it would be a success. Even Sarah Ferguson sold more books when she started her writing career."
So why did the book bomb? Viking are blaming the fact that Pippa was banned from doing any interviews to promote the book, in case she revealed anything about her sister. Add to the fact that her 'inspirational tips' were swiftly ridiculed by the media, even gaining their own spoof twitter account, and it's easy to see why the book sales suffered. Plus, the publishers have said working with an almost-Royal in the first place was a "nightmare".
Not that Pippa's too worried. She's still in publishing thanks to her Vanity Fair column and Waitrose magazine deals. And her sister Kate has made her first foray into publishing, penning the foreward to Living in the Slipstream: Life as a RAF Wife.
So whilst we'll be denied any more of Pippa's tips, we've certainly not heard the last of this Middleton's writing career.
