Despite the controversy surrounding its publication of "The Hindus: An Alternative History," Penguin Random House said it remains committed to publishing in India. A spokesperson said Penguin Random House supports the efforts of Penguin Random House India in its efforts to publish "vibrant" fiction and nonfiction titles in the years ahead.

Stine, Jones Win HWA's Lifetime Achievement Award
The Horror Writers Association has chosen Stephen Jones and R. L. Stine as the recipients of its 2014 lifetime achievement award. Winners must have exhibited a "profound, positive impact on the fields of horror and dark fantasy," and be at least 60 years of age or have been published for a minimum of 35 years. Past winners include Stephen King, Anne Rice, Joyce Carol Oates, and Ray Bradbury.
