The nine-year-old shuns TV and computer games, preferring to settle down with a Roald Dahl or Harry Potter.
Now she has been awarded a certificate of achievement by Cressida Cowell, author of How To Train Your Dragon.

Faith, of Ashley, Cheshire, gained her passion for books two years ago after being encouraged to read more by teachers at her primary school.
Her mother, Lauren, 35, said: “Faith says reading is just as stimulating as TV or computer games because you have to use your imagination rather than let the screen conjure it up for you.
“It is a shame that for many children these forms of entertainment have entirely taken the place of reading.” Faith said: “I mostly like books with animals or magic or adventures in them. But my life is not all about books.
“I do four hours of gymnastics every week, do karate classes, play netball and I’m learning to play the drums.
“I also like climbing and riding my bike, rollerblading and watching the odd bit of television.”

Author Cressida said: “Reading for pleasure is a key factor in a child’s later educational success.
“As a nation we need to get our children reading for the joy of it, like Faith.”
