Random House has just pressed the buttons on a second Quake
Dogs reprint.
Currently sitting at #2 on the bestseller list and pipped at
the post by another Random House title, Eat Crap Lose That Fat, Quake
Dogs has been flying off the shelves since stock arrived in for the new
year.
“It’s one of those very special books that rips at the
heart-strings,” promises Jennifer Balle, a Random House publicist.
“I’m a dog-lover myself but I defy anyone not to be moved by
it.
“In the book’s introduction, Laura Sessions talks about the
invisible bond that there is between humans and their pets. This collection of
stories celebrates the very essence of this relationship.”
“It’s hard to choose a favourite but a very compelling and
vivid story is ‘The Unknown Dog. ’ Amidst the frightening chaos in the
aftermath of the quake, a passer-by came across a car that had been crushed.
Sadly, the owner didn’t make it but the dog did. She took the dog and car’s
number plate so she could locate the family.”
