The year 2012 was a tough one for the Beastie Boys after they lost one member of their legendary trio, rapper turned filmmaker Adam Yauch, a.k.a MCA, to cancer. But according to the New York Times, things are looking up for Michael Diamond (Mike D) and Adam Horovitz (Ad-Rock), who will join forces to pen a "multidimensional experience" with Random House's Spiegel & Grau division with a memoir slated to be released in fall 2015.
Paper magazine also reports that Adam Yauch will officially be getting a park named after him in Brooklyn Heights later this week. If the book's even a smidgeon as amazing as Mike D's luxe French toile wallpaper that now graces the walls of a nightclub, we'll be ecstatic.
But until the book's released, feel free to reminisce on the days when this scrawny young trio used to rap about Brooklyn dressed in golden chains, snapback hats, fur-lined parkas, and dark shades in the video below.
