restored historic home is the country’s oldest literary museum, where Sargeson
lived and wrote from the 1940’s until his death in 1982. It is open to
the public by the Sargeson Trust as part of the Auckland Heritage

Captain Charles Moore – a leading researcher and scientist who discovered the
“Great Pacific Garbage Patch” – an endless floating waste of plastic trash that
has drawn world-wide attention. He founded the Algalita Marine Research
Foundation in America and is on a speaking tour around the world drawing
attention to the growing, choking problem of plastic debris in our seas. He
will give a presentation on his latest expedition and book, Plastic Ocean:
How a Sea Captain’s Chance Discovery Launched a Determined Quest to Save
theOceans.
