Six-figure pre-empt for Century

Random House imprint Century has acquired a “stand-out crime novel” by Samantha Hayes in a six-figure pre-empt deal.

Publisher Selina Walker acquired UK and Commonwealth rights in Until You’re Mine and another title from Oliver Munson of Blake Friedmann.
Until You’re Mine is told from the alternate viewpoints of a mother-to-be, her nanny and two married police officers investigating a string of brutal attacks on pregnant women.
Walker said: "At Century and Arrow, we've been looking for a stand-out crime novel for some time now, and this novel has everything: great narrative suspense, sympathetic, believable and complex characters, the sort of visceral crime-scenes that would not look amiss in a Mo Hayder or Tess Gerritsen novel, and an ending twist that bites you on the nose.
"We are very happy to be welcoming Samantha Hayes to our crime and thriller list."
Century will publish in hardback in summer 2013, with the Arrow paperback in early 2014.
Hayes has previously published four novels with Headline.
