Michael Cooper has been touring the country to promote his two most recent books Michael Cooper’s Buyer’s Guide to New Zealand Wines and 100 Must-try New Zealand Wines.
Earlier this week Poppies Mount Maunganui hosted him at a lovely al fresco event which was attended by a crowd of dedicated wine enthusiasts. The balmy Bay of Plenty evening was the perfect setting for Michael’s talk and he regaled the crowd with tales from the life of a wine writer, talked about the local industry and gave the assembled audience countless tips on finding value for money wine. The evening was rounded off with a tasting of his two Best Wine Buys of the Year - Whitehaven Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011 and Wild South Marlborough Pinot Noir 2010.
It’s been a big year for Michael. In addition to two new books, he’s also launched his website – www.michaelcooper.co.nz where members can search and view his thousands of tasting notes, plus find in-depth information on New Zealand wine regions, key grape varieties, events, news and much, much more. It’s well worth signing up for.Michael will appear at the Paper Plus Fab Foodies Books and Bubbles event this Sunday in Auckland.
