Michael Moore helps St Mark's Bookshop
Response to our petition to Save the St. Mark's Bookshop is growing! This week, Michael Moore lent his support when he came and signed his new book, Here Comes Trouble at the bookshop and spoke to an enthusiastic crowd about corporate greed, how people are fighting back -- and the plight of independent bookstores. If you missed it, catch some of it on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFJw7TMfh1k.
And here's how you can help the campaign to save the St. Mark's Bookshop:
Are you a student, faculty or staff member of any of the downtown universities near the St Mark's Bookshop (9th Street and 3rd Ave)? Please contact us! We would especially like to hear from Cooper Union alumni/ae. Your voices can be especially important in this fight.
And please pass the petition on to your friends and contacts. Help us get to 50,000 signers by the end of the week!
