Harry Potter Rules Top Grossing Book Apps List
By Dianna Dilworth on Galley Cat = July 20, 2011
The Harry Potter franchise has a new app available called Harry Potter Film Wizardry. As of Tuesday, the app was the Top Grossing iPad app in the books category on iTunes.
The interactive app is all about the making of the final Harry Potter flick. It debuted last week, in advance of the film’s release. The $12.99 app includes behind-the-scenes filmmaking stories, unpublished photos and interviews from the film’s actors.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Harry Potter film grossed $481.5 million in ticket sales in its opening weekend, making it the best worldwide debut of all time.
Last month, J.K. Rowling announced that she has a new Harry Potter website in the works. Pottermore will bring the world of Harry Potter to life with thousands of words of new content from the author and new interactive experiences. The site will also sell Harry Potter eBooks, which will be released for the first time this year.
