Google Woos Publishers from Apple

Google is opening up another front in its fight with Apple: The company has unveiled Google One Pass, a new system for digital subscriptions that will offer users one account to pay for access to publications.
Google will take just a 10 percent cut of such payments, as opposed to the 30 percent Apple charges publishers. Google CEO Eric Schmidt said the company’s "intention is for publishers to make all the money," and the 10 percent fee "roughly covers our costs.”
