In spite of the title and the appearance of this book it is in fact a novel. It is a most unusual format for fiction and also contains line drawings on almost every page, some times several on one page.

I reckon the author has pulled off a spectacular achievement with a terrifically original, at time hilarious first novel. I found it charming, impressive and totally diverting.
And not only is he a delightful writer, he is also a gifted illustrator.


About the author:

Reif Larsen studied at Brown University, and has taught at Columbia University, where he is finishing his MFA in fiction. He is also a filmmaker and has made documentaries in the United States, the U.K., and sub-Saharan Africa. He lives in Brooklyn, New York.
