A dab hand with haiku? An expert at sonnets and sestinas?
To celebrate National Poetry Day 2010, Time Out Bookstore, in conjunction with the Sunday Star-Times, is holding a nationwide poetry competition. Submissions will be accepted by email only to competition@timeout.co.nz, subject line ‘poetry’, and close 5pm, Thursday 15 July.
Upper word limit is 300 and the competition is open to previously unpublished poets over 16 years of age only. The winner will be announced on National Poetry Day, Friday 30 July and will receive a $500 Time Out Voucher.
The winning poem will be published in the Sunday Star-Times on 1 August. Thanks also to Flamingo Print who will print the winning poem on flyers to distribute in-store!
