Mog, the favourite storybook cat, celebrates 40 years!

Mog, the creation of bestselling author and illustrator Judith Kerr, celebrates her 40th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion HarperCollins Children’s Books have this month published a special anniversary edition of the original story, Mog the Forgetful Cat, first published in 1970, and coming later in the year is a Mog the Forgetful Cat pop-up edition.

Reading Mog the Forgetful Cat aloud to myself this afternoon brought back wonderful memories of reading it to my children 40 years ago and selling it in great numbers at Beattie & Forbes Bookshop. What fun it remains to this day and how great that it is still in print and being honoured in this way. Judith Kerr's other famous picture book is The Tiger Who Came to Tea.

Warm congratulations to author/illustrator Judith Kerr. I wonder if she is stll alive, she must be almost 90 if she is?
