WOMEN ON AIR AND PLAINS FM PRESENT TWO REMARKABLE WOMEN

An evening with American broadcaster & award- winning journalist , KATHRINE SWITZER, with radio personality & columnist, KERRE WOODHAM.

Kathrine was the first woman to officially enter the Boston Marathon in the 1960s, and she played a pivotal role in getting the women's marathon introduced as an Olympic event in 1984. Her book - "MARATHON WOMAN" - won the top American prize for journalism, earlier this year, at the Women's Sports Foundation, for media excellence. She is an inspirational speaker &saw her incredible efforts to change the attitudes towards women wanting to run long distances, as important to her as it was for her grandmother to work towards women gaining the vote.

When KERRE found herself fat, forty & depressed, she made a choice to make some personal change, if she was to make fifty. "SHORT FAT CHICK to MARATHON RUNNER" tells her story - in her inimitable style.
